Kennedy, Adrienne Adrienne Kennedy, born in Pittsburgh, PA in 1931 is one of the major female Black authors who affected the Black Arts Movement. Kennedy is well-known as a prize-winning playwright, and also a lecturer and author. Born as Adrienne Lita Hawkins, Kennedy was raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Kennedy then attended Ohio State University and received her degree before studying in several theater schools and workshops. |
